The thermotransport of 54Mn tracer in pure and in manganese doped sodium chloride crystals was measured in the temperature range 954–1040 K, by means of Soret effect measurements. The mean value of the impurity heat of transport was –206 ± 23 kJ mol–1 for pure crystals and –166 ± 21 kJ mol–1 for doped crystals. The result was compared with others for impurities in the alkali halides.en_US
