Abstract: | The ligand- and base-free, Pd-catalyzed synthesis of useful symmetrical and unsymmetrical biaryls in high yields from stable diaryliodonium salts is developed. The reaction is catalyzed by a recyclable Pd/polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG-400) system and proceeds under mild reaction conditions to produce biaryls that can be utilized to synthesize an array of natural and druglike compounds. |
