In this chapter, various quality improvement techniques of recycled aggregate and recycled aggregate concrete are explained. The possible shortcomings and benefits of utilization of recycled aggregate in concrete are discussed in the previous chapters. By taking these shortcomings into account different techniques such as acid treatment, thermal treatment, and mechanical treatment suggested by different researchers for the improvement of the characteristics of recycled aggregate are discussed in detail. Further, the investigators suggested different approaches like (i) addition of mineral admixtures, (ii) impregnation of recycled aggregate in mineral admixtures or cement slurry, and (iii) modified mixing approaches such as two-stage mixing approach, double mixing method, and modified two-stage mixing to mitigate the shortfalls of recycled aggregate concrete and are described in detail in this chapter.en_US
