This study has made an attempt to identify the major factors responsible to assess pollution status in Agra industrial cluster. The assessment has been performed using concept of multi-attribute decision making analysis in order to deal with various factors associated with different components of the environment. The applicability and usefulness of the proposed methodology developed herein has been rationalized by evaluating IEPI (Integrated Environmental Pollution Index) for 3 components of environment viz. air, surface water and groundwater in an industrial cluster located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The main purpose of this study is to develop a conceptual model for establishment of pollution index of an industrial cluster which can further demonstrate its applicability under different scenarios for various other case studies of industrial clusters located in different parts of India. The insights gained through the present study is believed to be of pivotal significance in identifying critical industrial clusters. By using data on pollution in air, surface water, groundwater, one can also be able to identify critical component which may be vulnerable.en_US
