Abstract:
The most recent global health observatory (GHO, 2014) data of HIV/AIDS published by WHO [31] proclaims that around 78 million people have been infected with the HIV virus and about 39 million people have died of HIV virus. In the current scenario around 35.0 million people are living with HIV globally. Nevertheless, the HIV burden may vary depending upon the geographical region, e.g. like Sub-Saharan Africa is the most affected region which contributes nearly 70% of the global HIV burden [31]. The number of people dying from AIDS-related causes has been reduced with the increasing availability of antiretroviral therapy in low and middle-income countries. This emphasizes the importance of treatment of HIV through antiretroviral therapy.
