dc.description.abstract This paper examines the risk management process undertaken by public asset managers to address climate change impact to buildings using the tools and resources adapted from the guideline titled ‘Climate change impacts and risk management: a guide for business and government’ developed by the Australia Greenhouse Office (‘AGO Guide’), Standard Australia AS5334 climate change adaptation for settlements and infrastructure and Risk and Adaptation Assessments to Climate Change. The new risk management process is illustrated in Semarang as the most vulnerable city in Indonesia. This study suggests five steps using AGO Guide, AS5334 and KRAPI for preparing risk assessment and adaptation plan for public buildings in Indonesia: (1) establish climate change context; (2) risk assessment; (3) implementation of adaptation plan; (4) monitoring and review and (5) continual improvement. The three guidelines from Australian and Indonesian climate change adaptation approaches in development of risk assessment process for public building will assist public asset managers in Indonesia to adapt the process to address climate change impact. en_US
