Item Design and development of Six Sigma implementation framework for Indian industries(IJEBEA, 2013) Reosekar, Ravi ShrikrishnaSix Sigma has emerged as a powerful tool in quality management over the recent years and the approach is widely used across all sectors of manufacturing, service logistics and health & hospitality. In today’s competitive environment to sustain global competition means to be the best in the field at each competitive priority and to demonstrate industry best quality improvement practices like six sigma. A little work has been done in the area of framework of six sigma implementation but none of the existing frameworks was found to be suitable for the Indian scenario, and the completeness of existing Indian six sigma frameworks was also found to be lacking. Hence this paper aims to focus on the development of a new framework for providing direction and guidance for implementation of six sigma in Indian scenario. Total 67 frameworks of six sigma implementation as proposed by various researchers, consultants, international agencies and individuals were indentified through literature review. Comparative analysis of these identified frameworks was carried out and a new framework is suggested after considering domain knowledge of six sigma and through discussion with experts. Some unique elements/attributes of six sigma were identified through comparative analysis which represent/forms the pillars of six sigma.Item An Empirical Investigation of Six Sigma Practices in Indian Manufacturing Industry(BITS, Pilani, 2015) Reosekar, Ravi ShrikrishnaItem Engineering Education-Present Scenario and Need for Research(The Journal of Engineering Education, 2011-10) Reosekar, Ravi ShrikrishnaThis study concentrates on engineering education in the sub continental part of the fast developing Asian country, India. The study helps in finding out the perception of education stakeholders about the quality in engineering education. It is proposed to validate or otherwise, the following hypothesesItem Enhancing supplier capability through Six Sigma enablers(Emerald, 2021-12) Routroy, Srikanta; Pradhan, Sudeep Kumar; Reosekar, Ravi ShrikrishnaThe purpose of this paper is to identify, analyze and orient the enablers of Six Sigma to enhance supplier capability for an Indian manufacturing supply chain (SC).Item Quality improvement through systematic approach-six sigma(The Journal of Engineering Education, 2011) Reosekar, Ravi ShrikrishnaSix sigma a statistically based quality improvement methodology, leads to breakthrough in product / process quality, customer satisfaction and productivity. The concept of six sigma was pioneered at Motorola in the 1980's and the concept was to reduce the number of defects to as low as 3.4 parts per million opportunities.Item Six Sigma Enablers for Incoming Material Quality Improvement and Their Interaction in Supplier Domain for Indian Manufacturing Scenario(Elsevier, 2021) Routroy, Srikanta; Pradhan, Sudeep Kumar; Reosekar, Ravi ShrikrishnaMaterial quality is the predominant factor in governing competition in the existing supply chain. Hence, the right quality product at a competitive price has ever existed as it is now. Though the end-users are exploiting maximum benefit from this scenario, the complete value chain is moving towards cost optimization without scarifying the product quality. Every value chain is trying to improve or at-least maintaining the status-quo by creating a strategic supplier relationship program where the close relationship with suppliers helps the organization to avoid the uncertainties related to response time, order stability and incoming material quality, which incidentally responsible for the quick product to market. The incoming materials quality from the supplier is largely governed by process capability at the supplier end with respect to the desired quality standard from the manufacturing organization. In this context, Six Sigma is a widely accepted practice used in the industry in recent days for process capability improvement. Many researchers have studied Six Sigma in various contexts as a process improvement benchmark tool. In this paper, seven Six Sigma enablers are identified and one of the major enabler related to supplier domain; i.e., Supplier management is discussed in detail. The enablers (Proximity, Supplier Performance, Leadership, External Environment, and Supplier Management) those are directly contributing towards supply management are identified, and their interaction is studied through a hypothesized model. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is performed to understand relationship strength among these enablers. The enablers like leadership and supplier performance, exhibit relationship strength at a moderate level with supplier management. The relationship strength for all other enablers is at the minor level yet significant. Mediation does not affect the relationship significantly.Item Six Sigma methodology: a structured review(Emerald, 2014-10) Reosekar, Ravi ShrikrishnaThe main aim of the present study is to explore field of Six Sigma and discover the limitation of the present research work. The study also tries to find emerging aspects, trends and future directions and explore unfocused areas of Six Sigma. The present study involves an analysis of 179 research articles published from 1995 to 2011 in 52 selected reputable journals.
