Lithium + Methylamine Solutions: Part 3.—Vapour Pressures
(Journal of the Chemical Society : Faraday Transaction - I. The Chemical Society, London. 1974, 70 (07), 1974) Nakamura, Yoshio; Horie, Yutaka; Shimoji, Mitsuo
The vapour pressures of the lithium+methylamine system have been determined as a function of metal concentration between —55 and + 5°C. The activity of methylamine deviates positively from Raoult’s law at low metal concentrations and then negatively with increasing metal concentrations, in a similar way to that in metal + ammonia solutions. The results obtained are discussed using a simple model, in which solutions arc considered as consisting of metal atoms solvated by several methylamine molecules and free methylamine molecules.
