Abstract

The charging point on electric vehicles (EV) contributes to grid power quality issues. A fuel cell integrated shunt active power filter (FC-SAPF) is suggested in this chapter to improve power efficiency. The FC is pollution-free, highly efficient, and operationally simple, thus a good option for future power generation. This work presents the design, analysis, and control of FC-SAPF functions. FC interfaced with boost converter feeds the SAPF. The system employs a d-q theory-based control algorithm with an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) controller to control the SAPF. The proposed FC integrated SAPF is analyzed with MATLAB/Simulink and authenticated in OPAL-RT. The FC-SAPF reduces the total harmonics distortion, minimizes the voltage variation, and improves the power factor.
