Efficient photocathode: CuO porous 2D nanosheets show the most efficient activity as photocathode towards PEC water splitting due to their high light absorbance, high carrier density, and high electrochemically active surface area (ECSA). CuO porous 2D sheets show appreciable activity towards photocathodic water splitting reaction with a photocurrent density of 3.09 mA/cm2 at an applied potential of −0.1 V vs. RHE in 0.5 M Na2SO4 solution.en_US
