Item Phonon dispersion of graphene revisited(Springer, 2012-06) Mishra, Rashmi RanjanThe phonon dispersion of graphene is derived by using a simple mass-spring model and considering up to the first, second, third, and fourth nearest neighbor interactions. The results obtained from different nearest neighbor interactions are compared and it is shown that the k2 dependence for the out of plane transverse acoustic mode obtained in other sophisticated methods as well as experiment occurs only after including the fourth nearest neighbor interaction.Item The temperature dependence of the band gap shrinkage due to the electron–phonon interaction in AlxGa1−xAs(IOP, 2006-01) Sarkar, NiladriThe photoluminescence spectrum of band edge transitions in AlxGa1−xAs is studied as a function of temperature and electron concentration. The parameters that describe the temperature dependence redshift of the band edge transition energy are evaluated using different models. We find that a semi-empirical relation based on a phonon dispersion related spectral function leads to an excellent fit to the experimental data.
