Item Design and development of Six Sigma implementation framework for Indian industries(IJEBEA, 2013) Reosekar, Ravi ShrikrishnaSix Sigma has emerged as a powerful tool in quality management over the recent years and the approach is widely used across all sectors of manufacturing, service logistics and health & hospitality. In today’s competitive environment to sustain global competition means to be the best in the field at each competitive priority and to demonstrate industry best quality improvement practices like six sigma. A little work has been done in the area of framework of six sigma implementation but none of the existing frameworks was found to be suitable for the Indian scenario, and the completeness of existing Indian six sigma frameworks was also found to be lacking. Hence this paper aims to focus on the development of a new framework for providing direction and guidance for implementation of six sigma in Indian scenario. Total 67 frameworks of six sigma implementation as proposed by various researchers, consultants, international agencies and individuals were indentified through literature review. Comparative analysis of these identified frameworks was carried out and a new framework is suggested after considering domain knowledge of six sigma and through discussion with experts. Some unique elements/attributes of six sigma were identified through comparative analysis which represent/forms the pillars of six sigma.Item Validity and reliability of sustainable supply chain management frameworks in Indian smart manufacturing industries(Emerald, 2023-05) Jasti, Naga Vamsi KrishnaSustainable supply chain management (SSCM) ensures integration of socially, environmentally and economically feasible practices in entire supply chain. SSCM principles can be implemented to improve efficiency and productivity of a system by different attributes of the system. The purpose of this article is to identify the most appropriate existing (SSCM) framework that can be implemented suitably in Indian smart manufacturing industriesItem Development of an adapted framework for lean product development(Inder Science, 2021-02) Jasti, Naga Vamsi Krishna; Kota, SrinivasLean product development (LPD) plays a major role in success of the organisation's product. Many researchers have proposed various LPD frameworks to implement LPD principles in the organisations without reviewing the existing LPD frameworks. Hence, this study performed a critical review of 35 frameworks with respect to novelty, background, and verification methodology used in the frameworks to identify the inconsistencies and standardise the elements. Several inconsistencies present in the existing LPD frameworks were identified and the importance of coherent theory building as well as development of coherent set of elements in the LPD was elucidated. To overcome these inconsistencies, a comprehensive conceptual LPD framework with high coherent elements was proposed.Item Development of a framework for lean production system: An integrative approach(Sage, 2015-10) Jasti, Naga Vamsi KrishnaLean production is one of the alternatives to achieve excellence in the organizational operations. The objective of this study is to develop a lean production system framework by conducting critical analysis and comparative analysis on the existing lean production system frameworks. The study has collected 131 lean production system-related frameworks from the literature survey. The study has identified 39 frameworks using validity and reliability analysis, which is considered as a sample of framework in this study. The study has performed critical analysis on the sample of the frameworks in the aspects of novelty of frameworks, background development of framework, status of verification of frameworks and verification methodology used to verify the proposed frameworks. The study has proposed a framework with the help of domain knowledge, through discussion with experts in the field, comparative analysis as well as reliability and validity analysis. The study clearly discloses major irregularities in lean production system literature such as majority of frameworks have been developed based on novelty concept. The study also found a lack of significant participation of practitioners and consultants in the development of lean production system-related frameworks. The study has identified 11 pillars with the help of comparative analysis. However, finally the study has proposed a framework with the help of 11 pillars and 83 elements in the field of lean production system.Item Validity and reliability of lean product development frameworks in Indian manufacturing industry(Emerald, 2014-11) Jasti, Naga Vamsi KrishnaThe purpose of the article is to identify suitable existing lean product development (LPD) framework that is useful to implement in Indian manufacturing industry. The number of successful products is one of the most deciding factors in any organization revenue. Lean principles can be applied across product development processes to eliminate waste activities. Thus, to fulfill the objective, the present study has performed validity and reliability analysis on the existing LPD frameworks with the help of empirical data collected from Indian manufacturing sector through a survey questionnaire methodology.Item Validity and reliability of lean manufacturing frameworks: An empirical study in Indian manufacturing industries(Emerald, 2014-10) Jasti, Naga Vamsi KrishnaThe purpose of this paper is to investigate, validity and reliability analysis on existing Lean manufacturing (LM) frameworks when applied to Indian organizations. LM is one of the best manufacturing strategies that are used by manufacturing plant managers to improve manufacturing capabilities.Item An empirical investigation on lean supply chain management frameworks in Indian manufacturing industry(Emerald, 2017-07) Jasti, Naga Vamsi KrishnaSupply chain management plays a vital role in deciding the final cost of products. A huge number of non-value-added activities are performed throughout supply chain process. Lean principles are useful to identify and eliminate waste activities across the supply chain management processes. The purpose of this paper is to examine the validity and reliability of the existing lean supply chain management (LSCM) frameworks in the Indian manufacturing industry through questionnaire survey methodology.Item Development of a deposition framework for implementation of a region-based adaptive slicing strategy in arc-based metal additive manufacturing(Emerald, 2022-03) Kala, PrateekThis study aims to develop and demonstrate a deposition framework for the implementation of a region-based adaptive slicing strategy for the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding-based additive manufacturing system. The present study demonstrates a deposition framework for implementing a novel region-based adaptive slicing strategy termed as Fast Interior and Accurate Exterior with Constant Layer Height (FIAECLH).Item Development of maintenance framework for SMEs by an ISM approach(CRC Press, 2022) Mishra, Rajesh PThe main purpose of the research paper is to develop a new conceptual framework with an analysis of various strategies for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) which helps to expand, contend and to be successful in the global market taking into consideration their characteristics. Paper commences the review on the framework definitions and considers a comparison of its various properties. It presents the need for a framework and defines its importance in SMEs. Various existing frameworks put forth by academicians would then be taken into consideration, and their advantages and disadvantages from the perspective of SMEs would be examined. Various types of approaches are required to analyze the problems, possibilities, and challenges to success in expansion. The framework could be utilized as a conceptual magnifier for critically evaluating the history and results of SMEs' globalization. The arrangement of this research study focused on challenges experienced by various SMEs, which finally influence their performance. Present work is related to the identification of elements/sub-elements which are already available in published literature.Item SWOT analysis – on maintenance frameworks for SMEs(CRC Press, 2022) Mishra, Rajesh PA framework is a collection of various ideas, concepts, circumstances and beliefs that help to establish how anything will be detected, realized and constructed. It is a collection of tasks and explains how they are interconnected inside a structure. Generally, a framework is an actual or theoretical structure planned to assist as facilitation or direct the development of anything that extends the construction into anything beneficial. It can also be considered as a basic structure of hypothetical rules or principles of science. Framework development is based upon existing frameworks of SMEs (Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises) and the variable needs of the customers in the market. Development involved in the classification of various processes resulted in the conceptual framework. In existing and available frameworks, some are trustworthy and reliable, while a lot of them are weak and not useful. This chapter considered the importance of a maintenance framework in the environment of SMEs. The main aim of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis is to utilize firmly established methodologies – strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats – with the intention to identify the key elements for the maintenance framework.
