Item Multi-attribute decision models for justification of cellular manufacturing systems(Inder Science, 2004-11) Sangwan, Kuldip SinghThere is a general challenge offered to the field of engineering economics by the introduction of advanced manufacturing systems. Typically, the traditional approaches do not account for the significant intangible benefits offered by cellular manufacturing systems. In this paper, an attempt has been made to overcome the above-mentioned deficiencies by presenting two multi-attribute decision models – analytical hierarchy process and performance value analysis – for the justification of CMS. In this paper, an attempt has been made to overcome the above-mentioned deficiencies by presenting a multi attribute decision model — Performance Value Analysis (PVA) — for the justification of green manufacturing systems. The usefulness of the model is demonstrated through an illustrative example. The results clearly show that the implementation of green manufacturing systems offers far better competitive advantages over the non-green manufacturing systems.Item Analysis of suppliers' preferences to a manufacturer using Kano model and performance value analysis(Inder Science, 2016-12) Routroy, SrikantaThe approaches to achieve competitive advantages have not been actively extended along the manufacturing supply chains, as most of them are practiced in competitively putting efforts to achieve the customer satisfaction alone. Conventionally, the suppliers' outlook has been mostly ignored by the supply chains without imparting the essential emphasis what it aptly deserves. Moreover, majority of the manufacturers along the supply chains have feeble supply bases and are seriously struggling to put forth a healthy competition. This is due to negligence in accounting the extraneous influence of supplier satisfaction construct which can eventually position a manufacturer as a preferred customer. Considering the above discussed issues, there are no specific studies available in the published literature to systematically capture, plan and manage supplier's perceptions, expectations and attractions which lead to supplier satisfaction. Thus, the current study is an attempt to resolute through an approach using Kano model and performance value analysis.Item Performance value analysis for selection of facilities location in competitive supply chain(Inder Science, 2006-08) Routroy, SrikantaThe facility location decisions are inherently strategic and long-term in nature and are also critical to the efficient and effective operation of a competitive supply chain. The transportation, inventory and information sharing decisions can be changed in response to changes in different potential parameters of the competitive supply chain, whereas the facility location decisions are often fixed and cannot be changed, even in the medium-term. Therefore, the successful execution of the decision, i.e. selection of facilities location in competitive supply chain, would give a cutting edge to the organisation. The present work describes an efficient decision framework for TPLP evaluation and selection in supply chain. The objective of this paper is to explain how an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Performance Value Analysis (PVA) algorithm can be used to capture and analyse Significant Categories (SCs) and Performance Indicators (PIs) for ranking the TPLPs effectively. The application of decision framework for TPLP evaluation and selection has been demonstrated with a case situation.Item Framework for green procurement: a case study(Inder Science, 2012-06) Routroy, SrikantaManufacturing companies are putting significant effort and investment to achieve feasible and affordable greenness in their supply chains. The procurement is a major area of manufacturing supply chain and has a significant impact on the final product with respect to quality, cost and greenness. Therefore, the manufacturing organisation should incorporate green issues while procuring components, parts, sub-assembly and services from suppliers. In this paper, a conceptual framework for green procurement (GP) in manufacturing environment is proposed. The simplicity and clarity of proposed model enhances its acceptability for implementation and also ensures desired level of greenness in the procurement process.
